Lady Gaga made jaws drop, and vegetarians everywhere cringe when she walked the 2010 MTV VMAs red carpet in her now-iconic meat dress. After dazzling in sophisticated looks by Alexander McQueen and Giorgio Armani earlier in the night, Gaga decided to raise the stakes—literally—by slipping into an outfit made entirely of raw beef.
Complete with meat boots and a matching steak hat; her look was the ultimate “rare” moment. Say what you will about it, but Gaga knew how to serve up shock value like no one else. Love it or loathe it, her meat dress carved its place in pop culture history. It was bold, bizarre, and oh-so-Gaga!
