Ludwig Hofmaier blickt auf ein buntes Leben zurück: Der nur 1,55 Meter große, ehemalige Kunstturner wurde in seiner Disziplin Deutscher Meister und beherrschte als erster Landsmann überhaupt den sogenannten Yamashita-Sprung. Doch damit noch nicht genug: Er lief im Handstand 1070 km von Regensburg bis nach Rom, wurde später Gastronom und sattelte schließlich auf Antiquitäten um.
Hofmaier fuhr mit dem Wohnmobil zu Flohmärkten und machte sich in der Branche zunehmend einen Namen, bis er dann für das ZDF-Format “Bares für Rares” gecastet wurde und dort zum Liebling der Zuseher wurde. Mittlerweile hat er den Job an den Nagel gehängt – aber er ist so reich, dass er auch nicht arbeiten müsste.
