Der Hildesheimer Timo Hübers ist Verteidiger für den 1. FC Köln und wechselte erst im Vorjahr aus Stuttgart zu seinem neuen Verein. Er gehört heute mit einem Nettovermögen von einer Million Euro zu den wohlhabendsten Verbandsspielern im Land. Schlagzeilen machte er auch, als er sich 2020 als erster Profikicker mit Corona infizierte.
Was er mit seinem ganzen Reichtum so anfängt, darüber ist nicht viel bekannt. Als Spieler muss er nicht einmal Geld für ein schickes Auto ausgeben, denn der Verein wird gesponsert und so durfte er sich einen Wagen aussuchen. Für seine berufliche Zukunft scheint sich Hübers jedenfalls noch anderweitig vorzubereiten: Er gab 2019 eine Bachelorarbeit in Wirtschaftswissenschaften ab.
